The 2019 Australian Karate Federation National Championships came to a close on Sunday afternoon.

Over 500 competitors converged at the Silverdome, Tasmania, across three days of action.

A plethora of Australia’s best junior and senior talent competed, in a bid to achieve National championship glory. The event highlighted the abundance of high quality karate talent in Australia.

Almost 100 gold medals were awarded across the competition, with each of the member states putting forward some very competitive teams in the Kata, Kumite and Team competitions.

Victoria once again topped the medal tally, accumulating a total of 164 medals, including 45 Gold.

In second place was NSW Karate Federation Inc on 20 Gold medals, with WA Karate coming in third on 14 Gold medals.
